The new building of the Thalasso-Wellness Centre is located in the centre of Opatija itself, as a part of the complex Thalassotherapy Opatija. When designing the building the fact of a narrow space was taken into account as well as the architecture of nearby buildings. The façade is covered in reflexing glass with emphasized vertical aluminium profiles and inox wreath. The base of the building is coated with travertine stone. The entrance is from Opatija’ s main road along which the most important hotels in Opatija spread. At the entrance there is an attractively lit up fountain which illuminates the way towards the staircase that leads to the main entrance. The building has three floors. The surface of the lower level is 900m2, 615m2 of which are planned for the utility area. A cloakroom for guests and staff, toilet facilities, fitness and aerobic gym with a reception desk are located in the remaining 285m2. A salt- water swimming pool, whirlpool and children’s pool with men’s and women’s dressing rooms are located on the ground floor. The entrance hall with a reception desk and a bar are used as a reception area for welcoming guests. Massage, beauty and sauna centre with rooms for relaxation (surface about 590m2) are in the loft. The floors are connected by an inner staircase and a panoramic elevator.
