The hotel Istria in a tourist place Katoro (Umag) was completely renovated into a new hotel complex Sol Garden. The 4* hotel is divided in 6 parts. The first five consist of the ground floor and a raised ground floor where mainly common rooms are (kitchen, restaurants, congress hall, club house, indoor pool and wellness) and two to three above-ground floors where accommodation units are. The reception and administrative office are in the sixth part. Dividing the hotel in different and separate parts, a more appropriate town- planning solution for a smaller building plot was realized. By organizing the parts around the central hall an impression of a “town square” was created. The volumes within the hall are modeled after stylized town facades. The atmosphere of town streets was evoked by the choice of the floor design and urban equipment. The level between the hotels, annex to the hotels and the upper road make a complex of squares, foot paths, outdoor swimming pools, acquaparks, special areas for children, relaxation areas and an “Istrian village” - a complex intended for day and night animation as well as for gastro offer.
